What are superfoods?

A dictionary definition would read, ‘a nutrient-rich food considered to be especially beneficial for health and well-being.’

Though there is no legal or medical definition, our opinion is, ‘superfoods are nutrient dense powerhouses that pack large doses of antioxidants, polyphenols, vitamins, and minerals, and quite often a complete source of protein and amino acids. Eating them may reduce the risk of chronic disease, and prolong life, and people who eat more of them are healthier than those that don’t.’

Are your products pure?

My entire catalogue of products are all pure wholefoods. Simple ingredients that are organic, in most cases raw, some are Fair Trade, with no risks of nasty additives, fillers or binders. All products are also GMO free.

Are your products ‘raw’?

I work very closely with my suppliers to ensure the lowest processing temperatures for all products.

Almost all of the product catalogue is considered ‘raw’, that is processing temperatures under 45°C (Celsius), in order to retain as many nutrients as possible.

Suppliers all have the facility to monitor and maintain temperatures during processing their products, most of which can maintain temperatures to be classed as ‘raw’.

Products such as our Organic Hemp Protein Powder is produced using cold pressing methods, a process that guarantees temperatures not higher than 49°C, although quite often it will be lower (under 45°C) in fact. Due to the temperature being monitored not always being lower than 45°C, this therefore cannot be classed as fully ‘raw’. This is a likewise position I have taken regarding processing temperatures for MSM powder.

Are your products kosher?

Yes. The full catalogue range of products are kosher.

I follow a vegan diet; can I use your products?

All of the products I sell are confirmed suitable for vegans, with the exception of our Spanish Bee Pollen Granules.

I’m allergic to gluten. Are your products safe for me?

All products are gluten free, and are processed in gluten free facilities so there’s no risk of contamination.

Are your products safe to consume during pregnancy and/or whilst breastfeeding?

I am completely confident in the safety and purity of all products. I do strongly recommended however, that if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you consult a medical professional for dietary advice.

I’ve heard there are different types of chlorella. Which variety is yours?

The species is ‘Chlorella Vulgaris.’ This is grown and harvested in freshwater ponds on a small island in the South China sea. The chlorella is harvested and cleaned, then dried to a fine powder that is gently milled to break down the insoluble cell wall. This allows the nutrients within the chlorella cell to be easily absorbed in the human body.

Can I blend your products together?

Absolutely! There’s nothing better in my opinion than a superfood smoothie or a breakfast bowl of nuts and/or seeds combined with superfood products, topped with a splash or drowning of almond milk! Basically, any mix or combination of products will come down to personal taste, but I do recommend you experiment. If you do find something that you particularly like, a smoothie for example, please tweet it to @kingoftheraw so that I can try it too!

Can I mix your products into hot drinks?

Absolutely you can! I do recommend that you not boil products as this may cause a loss in nutrient value, but stirring into a hot drink for an added fresh flavour is a fantastic idea.

Where do you get your products?

All products are sourced from suppliers that are proven, professional and appropriately regulated, and all from within the UK. I am proud of the fact that I have built this business based on an honest, trustworthy, reliable, and friendly work ethic, and with a lot of hardwork too. These are the traits I look for in suppliers as well.

What should I do if a product is out of stock?

This can happen with my products I’m afraid, due to harvesting and supplier demand, and with the business being small and personal, I tend not to overstock. If a product is marked ‘Out Of Stock’ on its product page, I will always attempt to mark clear guidance as to when it will be available again. This will usually be something like ‘New stock ordered and due (date/year)’ in the hope that you return and place your order when it is available again. 

How should I store products purchased from King Of The Raw?

All products are packed and sold in re-sealable food grade pouches, and it is generally suggested to ‘store in a cool dry place’ away from direct sunlight’, such as a cupboard for example. Full storage instructions are on the information labelling to the rear of the product pouch for guidance. If you choose to, you can also store products in an airtight container or glass jar, away from direct sunlight however this is not necessary, only personal preference.

Whichever you decide, suggested storage would be in a cupboard that is dry and away from direct sunlight, generally below 16-20°C.

Where is the best before date displayed?

Best before dates are displayed to the back of the product on the ‘Information Label’. The production date will be there as well.

Where can I buy your products?

At the moment, www.kingoftheraw.com is the only way of buying my products online.

Packaging FAQs

How are products packaged?

All products are packed and are sold in re-sealable food grade pouches for your convenience.

One variation in product packaging is that coconut oil is in a jar.

What sizes do products come in?

Products are packed into a range of different sizes, generally 250g and 500g. However, please check each product page as some products are 500g only. This is due to what has been experienced with buying patterns and customer wishes.

One variation from this is that coconut oil comes in a 500ml jar only.

 

 

Postage/Shipping FAQs

What postage services do you use?

Within the UK, I use Royal Mail for orders up to 2kg and offer First and Second Class options to customers. For orders over 2kg I generally use UPS, DPD or Citylink couriers.

Orders to the rest of Europe – Royal Mail Airmail.

Orders to Worldwide Zones 1 and 2 – Royal Mail Airmail Signed For.

In every case there will be proof of sending your order, so in the rare occurrence that anything was to get lost or go missing, all is covered. Please see below questions for further details.

For orders outside of the UK over 3.5kg, it is advised you contact info@kingoftheraw.com for a more accurate shipping quote.

What are the dispatch and delivery times?

Orders received by 2pm (Monday to Friday) will be dispatched that day.

Orders over 2kg within the UK will be arranged by courier so may not be collected until the following working day.

Delivery times within the UK as a guide are…

First Class – Delivery aim 1 working day including Saturdays, second day for remote areas.

Second Class – Delivery aim 3 days including Saturdays, usually delivered on the second working day, third in more remote areas or during busy Royal Mail periods.

Courier (UPS, DPD or Citylink) – 1-2 days (Monday to Friday), usually on the second day.

Delivery times within Europe as a guide are…

Delivery aim of 3-5 working days.

Delivery times to the Rest Of The World as a guide are…

Delivery aim of 5-7 working days.

How do you workout postage/shipping charges?

The website calculates postage/shipping charges based on the weight of the products in your order.

Within the UK this is the case for orders under £75, as orders over £75 are FREE SHIPPING. For orders outside of the UK up to 3.5kg in weight, shipping is calculated, for a shipping quote above this info@kingoftheraw.com.

Please Note: Absolutely no profit or money is generated through any postage/shipping charges on my website.

Do your postage costs include packaging?

Yes they do.

What happens if my order gets lost?

I am pleased to report that this very rarely happens. However, if your order does happen to go missing/lost in the post, attempts will be made to track it down, as sometimes it can turn up at a delivery depot, and if after 15 working days in the UK, or 20 working days for Europe and other Worldwide orders, a replacement will be sent.

If I place an order outside of the UK, will it pass through my countries customs?

For orders within the EU there is a ‘Free Trade Agreement’ in place which means your order will pass freely across borders.

For orders outside of the EU, parcels will be labelled with a ‘Custom Declaration’ (or CN22) marking its contents. To date, I have experienced no major problems with any countries.

I’m outside of the UK and want to place a larger order. Is this possible?

Of course it is! Due to Royal Mail restrictions at 2kg maximum weight per parcel, packages can be split into whatever it takes to get your order to you. This works out much cheaper and is faster than sending a larger order using other methods of shipping.

Postage/shipping prices (up to 3.5kg) for your country are quoted when you use the ‘Calculate Shipping’ feature within the cart or you enter your country in the’Country’ box (under ‘Billing Details’) at checkout. The price you see is the exact price you pay, and parcels are split into the weight necessary to get them to you, so you don’t need to worry.

Payments FAQs

Are your online card payments secure?

Paypal is used so as to guarantee a secure payment system, so your online payment transactions will always be protected by the latest security technologies.

Payments to King Of The Raw are all via your own personal Paypal account or by a credit/debit card that will be handled by Paypal only. Your card details are never seen, and therefore are not stored either.

 

 

Discount Coupon Codes FAQs

What are coupon codes?

Discount coupon codes are codes that you can use within your cart to give a certain discount to an order. Simply enter a code as it is given to you within the cart, in the ‘Apply Coupon’ box.

Where can I get a discount coupon code?

Sometimes coupon codes are sent out with your order or tagged in to order emails. Registering an account (see below) will also allow King Of The Raw to email you once (sometimes twice) a month with coupon codes for ‘Product of the Month’ and other promotions and offers run. Sometimes coupon codes are posted to social media outlets, usually to the Facebook page or Twitter feed if you want to keep up to date there. Keep an eye on the blog too!

What are the benefits of registering an account with King Of The Raw?

With a registered account you will save the time of having to add addressing details every time you place an order.

When you register, if you leave the ‘Newsletter Subscription’ box checked, you will receive an email once (sometimes twice) a month with coupon codes for ‘Product of the Month’ and other promotions and offers run by the business.

Can anyone be registered?

Absolutely! This is open to all.

How do I register an account?

If you go to the My Account page, simply fill in the ‘Register’ box to the right with your email address and add a password below that. Before clicking ‘Register’ you can either leave the ‘Newsletter Signup’ box checked or uncheck it. That’s it!

What if my question is not covered here?

Please email info@kingoftheraw.com if your question is not answered on this page. Responding to emails within 24-48 hours after receiving them is the aim, Monday to Friday.
